Helen Hayes X Laura Quinn

As part of the Council of Irish Fashion Designers (CIFD) collaboration, Helen Hayes was paired with Design and Crafts Council Ireland (DCCI) Portfolio maker Laura Quinn to create a runway look together in 2021. The pair wanted to create a piece that highlighted the optic beauty and linear quality of their respective materials. 500 meters of ribbon was sewn together to create the stunning pleated effect in the dress. The glass bolero is made up of lampwoked glass rods which sit in a water het cut silicone framework, allowing it to undulate, and fit the wearer comfortably. This look was shown on the 2021 Autumn/Winter CIFD show.

Leonora Ferguson X Laura Quinn

As part of the Council of Irish Fashion Designers (CIFD) collaboration, Leonora Ferguson was paired with Design and Crafts Council Ireland (DCCI) Portfolio maker Laura Quinn to create a runway look together in 2022. Both makers hold sustainability as a core value in their work. They both wanted to create a statement look maintaining these values. Taking Ferguson’s skills of combining elegant and energetic forms that sweep around the body, and Laura’s lampworking skills, the pair created this look with 100% recycled glass from Neals Yard Remedy, and Haig Club bottles. This look was shown on the 2021 Autumn/Winter CIFD show.

Biot International Festival of Glass

Both looks from the CIFD DCCI collaborative projects were selected to be shown on the catwalk fashion show as part of the Biot International Festival of Glass 2022 in France.
