26th August 2023

10am-3pm BST (London Time)

Lampworking is the process of using a small, hot flame to shape and sculpt glass. Some call it glass blowing on a smaller scale. It is an ancient technique and is still used widely to this day to create a whole range of glass creations from jewellery to sculpture to chandeliers.

In this one day workshop I will briefly cover how I set up my home lampworking studio. We will cover some beginner to intermediate techniques which you can practice alongside if you have a lampworking set up yourself, or just watch and enjoy to practice youself at at a later stage. We will use both soft glass, and borosilicate glass, and the differences between these will be explained during the class. In this workshop you will learn how to make a basic bead, we will then move onto some borosilicate sculpting including some beautiful botanical sculptures.

It will be a jam packed workshop full of demonstrations and discussions. The workshop will be interactive and limited to 8 participants so that each person gets a great experience. You will be welcomed to participate by working along side, asking questions and feeding back about your own lampworking experience if you have any.

Whether you’re new to lampworking, or have been practicing this technique for years, this one day workshop will have something for you.

This course will be hosted on Zoom. I will email you one week prior to the course date with your course notes and Zoom link.

Materials are not included. Course instructor is providing information based on their own experience and accepts no liability for damage or harm incurred by participants undertaking techniques.
